Regarding H1B Stamping in Homecountry and Client letter

My employer filed my H1B extension in Feb'09 stating that I am working in an inhouse project and it got approved till Feb'12.When I planned to visit india for stamping, my employer told me that I have to file for an ammendment to my approved H1B with my current assignment as I am working at a different client now. My client denied to provide the letter. As I got a vendor inbetween my client and my employer, Vendor has provided the letter. As per my employer, for filing an ammendment and for stamping I need to have the client letter which states I am working under a project which is supervised by client manager. If my manager states in an email that I work under him in a particular project, will this work? Let me know if there are any alternate options to get my H1B stamping done.
