Q.

Traveling India while H1b extension is pending

Background–
-Recently changed company A to B (Nov 2010), having H1B with company A valid till 28th Apr 2011
-Company B filed H1B transfer/ext. on 28 Oct 2010 (Received receipt I -797C, not received new petition),USCIS status-initial review
-Working at client location through company B
Questions–
-Can I travel to India with an I-797C Notice of Action and company A visa valid till 28 Apr 11) while H1b transfer/Ext. is pending and back to US before visa expiry (travel dates 26 Feb 2011 to 19 Mar 2011)?
-what documents do I need to show at port of entry, what if they ask me for new petition?
-My employer is saying I can travel with transfer/ext. receipt and employer letter (company B),is this true?
-What new I-94 expiry date I will get, will POE/IO concern about visa validity duration?
