Q.

Urgent: Change of status from H4 to F-1

My wife needs to change her status to F-1 asap in order to get OPT. She was on H4 before which is now pending approval for "extension". (along with my H1B).
Is it advisable for her to leave the country and get her F1 stamped while her H4 approval is pending? Also, does it matter which country she needs to go in order to get a new F1 visa.
