H-1B faculties - best research paper awards and book royalities

I’m a university sponsored H-1B faculty. Am I allowed to accept the money originating from
1. awards for best research papers in conference presentations as a primary author’s work
2. book royalties as an Editor’s work
Agreement paper between me and book Publisher terms my Editor role as a "work for hire" (WFH). The WFH statement also appears in authorship forms when submitting papers to Journals. Compared to an Editor’s work with book Publishers, the Journals do not monetarily reward the author’s publishing work.
3. Is there any relation between the “WFH” and “monetary factors” either in case of Books or Journals, for the H1Bs?
4. Should I get the agreement paper revised for WFH statement? If yes, then what should be the appropriate statement or should there be no “WFH” statement.
