L1-B to H1-B transfer, I -94 overlap - multiple visit to country
Premise:
I worked with company ABC on L1-B Visa from 2007 to Nov 09 , L1-B Visa was valid till Dec 09.While working with ABC, DEF filed H1-B which was valid from Oct 08 to 2011. The H1-B approval had the I-94 (available in the approval) from Oct 08 to 2011.
Upto Nov 09: Though I had H1-B approval since Oct 2008,I continued to work on L1-B and visited my homeland multiple times. The I-94 kept changing in the passport.
From Nov 09: Started working with DEF on H1-B. The passport I-94, which was referring L1-B that had expiry date Dec 2009 but H1-B approval notice has expiry Sep 2011.
Query:
Eventhough had H1-B approval from DEF since Oct 2008, while working with company ABC on L1 visited homeland multiple times without using the I-94 in the H1-B as I didn't wrk on H1. Is this legal?
