Q.

Want to change my H1B employer

I am working for client X in CA through Preferred vendor P1 but my H1B is holding with A company in NJ. P1 can’t hire me directly because they have agreement with my company not to hire me. My client is ready to take me through different P2 preferred Vendor and I can transfer my H1b to Preferred Vendor P2. I had signed a agreement with my company on normal paper that I cannot join their end client directly or indirectly, and they also mentioned the clause of Non-Competition and Non-Solicitation. I signed this when I was NJ Resident but Now I am living in CA from last 30 Months. If my existing H1b holding company sends me the notice because I have continued working for the same client through Company P2 then do I have to pay some amount to them or what kind of problem they can create for me
