I got my H1B approved in 2008 and started using it since Oct 08. I worked for 2 months and then went to India to get married.I returned on my spouse's H1B as a H4(stamped) and still hold it currently. I am ready to get back to work now, so I am planning to do a COS to H1B. with the new rules,is this COS going to be difficult? How much will it cost? I heard USCIS is granting H1 for only 6 months to some people. what is that all about? If my COS is rejected, will my status continue to remain H4 as it was before applying COS or Will I need that H4 to be stamped again?
