Q.

I 94 Expiring Soon

Hi,
Here are the important dates
I 797 - Expires Oct 2011
I 94 - Expires Sept 2010
This is what happened. Transferred H1B in 2008 and went out of country 2009 but did not get H1 Visa under new employer as old H1 Visa was valid. At the port of entry the official saw the new I797 but gave me I94 based on old valid h1b visa end date. I want to know what is the best way to get my I94 corrected. As the date is very close i need an expert opinion on this as i do not want to be out of status. I have also booked an appointment at the SFO Deferred inspection site but not sure how that will work out. Please advise on my case.
