Travel on Old Visa

My dependents have valid H4's (until July, 2011) stamped on their passports. While my family was in India,I left my previous employer with whom I had their H4's stamped.
Now,I have secured a new 797 Approval from my new employer(B).My previous employer(A) have also filed to revoke my previous H1b petition. Now, with regard to my family travel, I have the following questions:
1) Can they travel with the old valid Visa and show the Original copy of my new H1b approval notice at the POE to enter the United States? Is this a perfectly legal and safe option, are there any risks involved in doing so? Does the PoE have any authority to deny them access just on the ground of using an old visa? Or do they need to necessarily go for a fresh visa stamping in India?
