My H1B extension is currently being processed, at the same time I have already applied for H4, which is also pending approval.

a. Is it possible that these two categories will be approved, or only one will be approved and the other will be disregarded?

b. If both categories will be approved, do I have an option to choose between the two categories, regardless of the order of approval (H1B got approved first or H4 got approved first)?

c. Do you consider this case risky, that is, having both H1B extension and H4 being applied, will this have a negative outcome in the approval of my non-immigrant status?
