H1B Renewal options after three years
Hi,
I am on a H1B for the past three years which is expiring on August 31, 2010. At the same time, I am contemplating moving internally to my company's U.K. office for a couple of years.
I wanted to discuss the best way to make this move, which keeps all my options intact:
1) Should I first secure my H1B extension and then make to move to U.K? I am assuming this would make coming back to america and resuming work reasonably straightforward?
2) OR should I move now to U.K. office before August 31 2010, and apply for a H1B renewal when I decide to come back? Are there any risks with this option? Also, I have heard that if you remain outside U.S. for a year, you can start a new 6 year H1B stint. Would this be applicable for me?
Thanks
