I hold a Philippine passport.
Went to the US for grad school and eventually got employed with an architecture firm in Boston
through opt-h1-b route.
I got my h1b stamped in manila and was later told by my employer that they will have to bench me because of the
economy. This was 7 months ago. Last week I heard from my employer and they told me that it is highly possible for me
to work with them again by November.
My question is this. I would want to visit the US this August for about a month. Is it possible to apply for the tourist visa without
compromising the h1b?
