Q.

need advice on payroll overlap and bonus

I am on H1B. I was working for a small consulting company A. I transferred my visa to a big consulting company B and currently working for them. I started working for the new company B from 04/21/2010. my previous employer has some of my money that he has agreed to pay. He said he will pay the amount he owe me in the form of bonus. I am not sure whether it is legal to get bonus from previous employer. Also, I want to know if I ask him to pay the remaining amount as May month salary in June 2010, will that cause any legal problem. In short, I want to know what is legal? either getting the remaining amount in the form of bonus or may 2010 salary risking payroll overlap.

Although I joined the new company B, they did not pay me for last 10 days in april. is that okay?

Please advice.
