Q.

H1B laid off need to travel.

I was working from august 2008 to feb/26/2010 for company A on H1B. I got laid off on 2/26/10. Since then I'm looking for new employer and I'm close to sign to new employer. Now I would like to go home(Europe) for 5 days because of my brother wedding next week. Can I travel out and back on my current viza (expiration April/2011, I-94 till April 2011)? If not can I return from my trip on B1/B2 viza? If so, can it complicated my later H1B viza transfer (since I will have B status)? If the new employer will submit H-1B transfer petition to the INS, before I will returning back to USA, can that help enter USA (and/or come in H1B status)? What are my options and possible consequences? Thanks.
