H1-B for commission-based job
Hi.
I'm an international student from Russia. I've got an undergraduate degree from a university in North Dakota in May 2009 (BS, accounting) and currently have the OPT work authorization which expires in July 2010 (1 year authorization). I work for a stock brokerage firm since Feb 2009 in NY on commission base only, no salary (I'm Series 7, 63 licensed). The firm is willing to sponsor me for H1-B only if my position (stockbroker) meets H1-B visa requirements. I'm willing to stay and work in the US (changing employers is an option, but the approaching deadline for H1-B, April 1, complicates the situation).
What are my alternatives to H1-B visa and are there ways to obtain H1-B for commission-based stockbroker position?
Thank you!
