Change of Status from H1b to F1
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am currently on the US on a H1b visa and have been admitted to an academic program for the fall of 2010. I am aware that I need to file a form I-539 for this. I want to quit my job on June 1st 2010. However, my program doesn't start till the first week of September 2010. As long as I file my form I-539 before June 1st, could i quit my job on June 1st and stay in the US till first week of September without violating my status?
Please advise.
