Q.

L1 to new H1

Hi

I am currently working on L1 Visa in USA for Employer A. Employer B filed H1 for me which got approved in June 2009.

While applying H1 in form I-129 , For Part 2 , 5 - Requested action - we choose option Notify the office in Part4 so person(s) can obtain a visa or to be admitted.
We chose office as US Embassy - Mumbai ( India)

So my current status is L1.
Is it mandatory for me to travel to India to get my H1 stamped since we choose option to travel to india for stamping? How I can be on H1 Status, witout travelling to India?
Also can I transfer this approved H1 to another Employer C without joining Employer B?
