Q.

H1B Termination

Sir,

I had filed for H1B in 2007 which was approved then and is valid until September 2010. I am in the US only since July 2009 and on L1B status. I haven't had my H1 stamped yet.

On October 2008 , I had got a call from my Sponsor stating that "My H1 petition will be terminated due to recession , though, it can be refiled at any point of time before its actual expiration date". This was communicated verbally and also a written mail was sent stating the same.

So, my questions are:
Even though my sponsor had said that my H1B has been terminated,
1) Can I do a H1-transfer if I find a job through any employer or refile it as stated by him?
If not, should I apply freshly for H1 again?

Please let me know.

Thanks and Regards,
Saravanan
