Q.

Approval of COS (H1B to F1) and then H1B transfer

I was laid off in August 15, 2009. I filed COS (H1B to F1) and H1B transfer at around the same time. Below is the details.

a) On August 17, 2009, I got F1 receipt notice for COS (H1B to F1).
b) On September 3, 2009, F1 was approved. On the same day (September 3, 2009), I got H1B receipt notice.
c) On December 23, 2009, H1B was approved.

Could you please let me know:
1) Can I continue working without any issues in current H1B when my F1 is already approved?
2) Do I need to file change of status to continue work in H1B? If yes, do I have go out of the country to get this change of status done?
3) Do I need to cancel F1? If yes, how soon and what steps to take in order to cancel it?
