H1B Renewal Denied. Can I change to F1?
Hello,
I work for a consulting firm and I have been on projects without break for more than 3 years now.
My employer filed for H1b extension (1st Renewal) in September, It got online denial notice couple of days back. We still have not received the official denial letter yet. Once we get the notice, we are planning to appeal. What are my options?
- Can I change my status to F1.
- Would my current status (H1B denied, I94 and visa expired) influence getting COS to F1 approved and/or getting CPT once I join the school.
- Is it better to apply for a new H1B from a different company rather than from the same company
- Can I Apply for a new H1B from a new company and also appeal (MTR) the denial through my current company
