I'm currently working on a L1B Visa in the US with an MNC. My L1B Visa is set to expire on Nov'20. Meawhile my company decided to file a H1 instead of L1 extension. My H1 petition was filed(Regular) on Aug'28 but still not received the receipt notice. It looks like the processing time for the H1 visa could exceed the validity of my L1 visa(Nov'20).

The company attorney informed me that there is a grace period of 240 days after filing for H1(Aug' 28) and so i dont have to exit the country when my L1 Visa expires(Nov'20) and instead wait till i receive the approval. Pls let me know if i can stay in US after expiry of my L1 Visa as a H1B visa is in process.
