Q.

Transfer from L1-B to H4

Hi,
Currently I am on L1-B. My husband has a H1-B. I am planning to apply for a transfer from L1-B to H4.My question is :
If I apply for that transfer today. When is the right time to resign from my company? If for example, it takes 3 months for the approval to come through, is it legal to continue working in my current company on L1-B for next 2 months.
My next question is if I apply for change in status today and leave my company in next 2 weeks,my L1-B will be cancelled by my company. Can I stay in US legally, when my L1-B is cancelled and my H4 is waiting to be approved.
Thanks!
