Q.

what is my status - h1/h4/out of status

1. Came to US on H4 in Jan’08 (H4 expiry- May'08)
2. Filed H1 from 2 comps A & B in March'08 and H4 extension in May'08
3. Got H1 approval from both. Approval notice dt for A - 07/08 & for B- 09/08
4. Got H4 extension but name was spelt incorrectly; Notice dt - 08/08
To rectify the spelling re-filed in 1st week of Oct. New notice dt 12/08
5. I select A; Got SSN in Jan'09 using A's H1
8. filed W4 & I-9 thru A in Feb'09.
9. Not worked on any project for comp A. No paystubs.

a. what is my status - H1/H4
b. If H1 & not working then how can I change to H4
c. If H1 can I work for B & how?
c. If H4 & I visit my country:
Case 1: can I get H1 stamping using A or B's h1
Case 2: get H4 stamping and come back then can I change to H1(of A or B) using I-539(assume neither withdraw my H1)
