Does change of ownership of company effect GC process
I work for a large US company on h1b and company has put the business unit I work at on sale. Once sold,my job role will remain the same and our business unit will keep doing the same work.
My employer is sponsoring me for GC and has received the prevailing wage determination. It will start the recruitment process soon.
Question is in the recruitment process or once the Perm is applied after recruitment if the business unit is sold, will it effect my GC.
Can the new owner take it forward or will they have to start from scratch?
I understand that incase of change of ownership/merger does not effect the GC, but does the GC application need to be at specific stage by that time.
Ex - does the perm or I-140 need to have been approved by that time?
