H1B Transfer and Extension

I am on my 8th year of H1B with I-140 approval from Company A (EB3)
Need H1B renewal/extension in Jan 2013.
I want to transfer my H1B to company B, in anticipation of porting my EB3 PD to EB2.

When the transfer gets approved to company B:

Will i get a 3 year extension with the Company B based on the I-140 approval from my current company?

OR

Will i get the H1B transfer approval till Jan 2013 and to file for an extension (1 year or 3 years) so soon, Will my (labor or I-140) need to be approved before Jan 2013 with the new company?
