ITIN rescind after getting SSN
Wife has ITIN since Apr 2006. She got EAD and got her SSN Jan, 2008. ITIN was not rescinded after getting SSN. She has not used her EAD to seek employment (her SSN appears in our 2007 and 2008 Tax Return as joint-filing). What exactly is the process in rescinding ITIN after receipt of SSN? Are there any penalties that we would incur because of rescinding the ITIN just now? Any impact on the pending permanent residency application?
