Q.

Green Card: Married to USC but entered on R1

I'm currently living in the US having entered 14 months ago on an R1 Visa which expires June 2010. I got married 9 months ago to a US citizen and so I'm looking to file for a green card based on being married to a US citizen.

Can I file for a green card based on being married to a US citizen alone by just submitting forms I-130 & I-485 even though I entered the US 14 months ago on an R1 visa? It's more complicated to apply for a green card based on my R1 alone (I-360 etc.) so I'd rather not go that route if possible.
