My wife and I filed a I485 for my stepson. He is in the US legally with a K4.

So when we filed the I485 he didn't have a I130.

Now they need the I130 and want me to file a new I485 and not use the original I485. And that means they want a new fee for the new I485.

Question: Is there any way of sending in the new I-130 ammended to the original I485 and not pay the fee again? Seems they are waiting for prople to make this mistake and just want another 1k because of some process they have..Any loophole I can use to get this going?
