Advice to let my Father stay longer in U.S to help me
Hi Dear Lawyer,
I’m the U.S. citizen. My Father came visiting me from Taiwan(his visitor visa will be expired in June/09) and now he is staying with me in U.S.
I filed the I-130 for him around this January and it has already been approved(it says by mail that it will take 90 days to notify him for the next step).
Originally he planned to go back Taiwan in this June, but now he wants to stay in U.S. longer to help me taking care of my little son.
I’d like to get your advice to know what is the best way to let him stayed in U.S. longer than June as his visa will be expired, for ex:
1) Have his visitor visa extended? How?
2) File I-485 to directly transfer his status to Greed Card. Is it too late as he already got I-130 in process? How?
Thank you very much!
