Query about expiring I94 - Pending I485

Hi,

I had filed for I130 and I 485 for my mother in August. She has already gone through biometric processing. She is currently in US on B1 visa.

However her I 94 is going to expire on Nov 16 2011. We got a letter last week that she has been scheduled for a face to face interview on 21st Nov. That means it won’t get approved before her I94 expires.

Is there any formality needed from our side regarding I 94 or just receiving I 797 for 130 and 485 is enough for her to stay in US beyond 16th Nov. Do we need to notify anyone or do we have to surrender I 94 same way as we would do when she goes out after her GC processing?

Also, is it normal to get an interview call for family based green card for parents? Is there anything we should be careful about?
