Q.

Should I hire lawyer to renew my GC because of CIMT!?

I’ve been living peacefully since I got my GC on 2001. My GC was based on marriage.
On Sep/2009 I got arrested for a DUI. I had no criminal record in the both Japan and USA.
DA offered me a deferred FELONY provided 2 yrs probation and alcohol classes, because I ran away from patrol cars when I was pulled over!
My criminal lawyer warned me that I might be deported fifty-fifty! The reason why is a FELONY eluding, which is considered a CIMT.
I completed all the requirements of the court .
My GC is going to expire by Oct/2011! Should I hire an immigration lawyer to renew my GC from scratch!?
My husband recommends me to file it by myself then we can hire a lawyer when it is rejected.
I ‘m scared if it is once rejected by USCIS, the cost and risk of renewal would go up.
