Q.

GC and H1

Hi Mr Ryvin! My husband (USC) and I had just mailed out the GC application (both i-130 and i-485) yesterday and today I got a phone call from a prospective employer who would like to sponsor me H1B. I am on F1 right now but I was on H1 till this Feb. and there are still 20 months left in my visa. My question -
1.if they offered me the job (and I want to work), is there anyway that I can work with H1 and apply for GC at the same time? For now should I (and can I) stop my COS filing (to resident) and let the employer help me get the H1B?
2. The employer said they would only sponsor me if I still have at least 20 months left with my current H1 visa, I don't quite understand why, does that means they only want to hire me for the rest 20 months?
Thanks.
