I-130 Filed By Brother - Confusion About Timing And Approval
I am in the US on H1b and have a bit more than one year left.
My brother once filed an I-130 for me at a consulate abroad. The priority date is becoming current soon.
A few days ago we received the "PAOSF I-130" / "ACL Universal" from NVC stating: "We have received from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) the immigrant visa petition that was filed on your behalf."
I would like to adjust my status before I have to ask my employer for visa extension.
I am concerned that I do not have an approval notice for this case, when it come to filing the I-485. The more research I do I get the feeling that normally I should at this stage. The only reference I have right now is an NVC case number, nothing from USCIS.
Could you kindly recommend what we could do?
