Q.

Sponsor father

My father in law is getting old, and my mother in law has very serious health issues. My wife and I would like to prepare to be able to take care of him in the US after his wife passes.

My wife is a LPR since Oct 06, and I since Jun 07.

- When could we file for I-485 if we would file I-130 now?
- What is the wait time after my wife becomes a USC?
- Would we benefit from filing I-130 now, or should we wait until my wife becomes a USC?
- Would filing I-130 prevent my father in law from using the VWP, and if so make it hard to get tourist visa?

And by the way Can I file N-400, when my wife becomes a USC since we have been married for over 3 years by then, or do I have to wait until Mar 2012?
