Advance Parole: Form I-131
I'm currently working for an international organization in the U.S. and have a valid G4 visa. My wife is a U.S. citizen and I'm about to file for an adjustment of status to permanent resident.
However, page 10 of the form I-485 filing instructions states that we also need to file form I-131, if I plan on leaving the U.S. The noted exceptions are H, L, V and K3/K4 non-immigrants.
We plan on visiting family abroad later in the year (after filing the adjustment of status). Would you happen to know if G non-immigrants have since been added to the exception list?
There is an additional filing fee for form I-131, so we would like to know if it's absolutely necessary in our situation.
