I’m scheduled for an interview in the US embassy soon to get an immigration visa to go to US and get my green card through my wife, So :

I’m a Jordanian citizen having a permanent residence in Qatar (working)

- Does it effect me in anyway( like for example having my GC to considered abandoned and taken away) if I keep working in Qatar?

Taking into consideration my wife will come to Qatar and live with me until I finish my job at a project for a period of 2 years, during that time we will make sure that we wont be gone from US for a period more than 1 year from date of obtaining the GC.
- Or shall I cancel my Permanent Residence in Qatar and resign right away and move to US at once?
