Q.

Going home to apply for an F1 student visa after 6months stay

I will be leaving the states to go home to apply for an F1 student visa. I have have so far stayed almost 6 months on my B2 visa. Reason why i stayed so long was because I was looking for a school and I finally found one and have my I20. But I have just being informed that my alnost 6 month stay might affect my student visa application even though I have not overstayed my visa. Is this correct. I am a Nigerian national.
