Is egg dontation considered employment in immigration terms?
If a student here on a F1 visa has a Social Security number, but it has the "not valid for work without INS approval" clause on it, are the eligible to donate eggs? I have seen some lawyers say it's considered selling something and not employment, so it is ok. I cannot find a previous immigration case where the answer was definitively given. Some clinics suggest that you need INS approval, but I wonder if they are just covering their butts since there seems to be no defined answer. You do get a 1099-misc when you donate, so tax-wise you need to file. I just need to know if egg donation, in immigration terms, is selling or illegal employment?
