Q.

Change of Visa Status

Hi,
I got laid off on May 8th, 2009. I got accepted for the fall program at a university and sent in my paperwork for change of status to F1. The university told me that I didn't require to send in pay stubs or the SEVIS fee receipt. They said I could pay the SEVIS fee online and they would be able to look it up
1. How do i send them supporting information? Should I wait to hear back from them or can I send them additional documents?
2. Is there a chance that they will deny my COS because the application is missing pay stubs and a SEVIS fee receipt or will they send me an RFE?
3. What steps should I take if my COS is denied? 4.I know I am allowed to appeal with a lawyer. The university also said that I can take courses while my COS is pending. Is that true?
