I am a foreign student in F-1 status. I have been a winner of several international programming competitions; based on this evidence I self-filed I-140 petition in EB1a category and 2 weeks ago it was approved. A week ago I filed I-485 to TSC based on approved I-140. The problem is: it make take a couple of months for me to get an EAD on the basis of I-485 however I have a current offer of research internship from Google. My University is willing to give me a CPT for this internship however I have doubts whether I can do CPT while my AoS is pending.
In short: I'm an F-1 student and I filed an I-485. Do I still qualify for benefits associated with F-1 status, in particular CPT, or not?
