I am on F1 visa now. I got a job opportunity from an IT firm and they will be filing the LCA tomorrow 09/02/2011 and apply for H1 by 09/08/2011 and would initiate the process of Change of status to H1 in Premium Processing with start date 09/22/2011. But right now i am in usa. I have an emergency and need to go to india. Can I leave to india after initiation of COS to H1 around 09/04/2011 and reenter usa before the approval of H1 or before the start date of H1 arounf 09/20/2011. so that I can reenter USA in my existing F1 visa.
2. Will my sevis record be valid till my H1 gets approved or it gets terminated before H1 approval?

Please advise
