Q.

1

I came to US on F1 visa in 2007, and finished my masters. At the end of my OPT period, i enrolled in another University and started working on full-time CPT. My F1 visa stamp is valid till May 2012.I am planning to apply H1B this year around May or June. Also I have plans to visit India between July/August(and will be back before OCT 1st) . I have the following questions:
1) Is it advisable to travel while H1b is in process?
2) I was told that if my H1b gets approved when I am in India, I will be getting a H1b without I-94, will I be facing any problems at port of entry. Is that true?
3) Do I need stamping if I come back before Oct 1st?
4) In case I go to India what are the precautions and documentation I need to carry for smooth re-entry?
