Q.

f1 visa change status to f2

Hi Sir,
I am currently studying in English program as a full time student. In mid of January2011, I filled a request for changing my f1 to f2 Visa and USCIS sent me the 797 form stating that the request is in process. So far, I am still attending classes but honestly I want to know what is my legal status .Should I be attending as a full student or I am legally can stay home because I am really need to get prepare for GRE and also take care of my kids, wife. In top of the load I carry,my wife does not drive so they need me all the time. I got tired from attending the English program and I have the TOEFL score so I am no longer in need to further classes.
I just want to know what my legal chance is to stay home and is it ok to stay home until I got the final decision for my I-539 request.
