1099 MISC on F-1 status
I was an F-1 student last year (2010) and I did a CPT internship at a company. Now that employer has sent me a 1099 MISC form instead of a W2 and when I contacted them, the HR told me they had hired me as an Independent Contractor (I thought I was an employee). Is this a problem with my immigration status or will I have any problems in the future? How do I file my tax now?
