Q.

F-1 Status CPT rules

I am currently on F-1 status and working on CPT. My employer is in ABC state, and am working for a client located in XYZ state through a vendor located in XYZ state. Please advise if it is legal / illegal to work as mentioned above while on F-1 CPT. Also, please advise what answer can be given to an immigration officer if I am inquired about why I worked for a client associated with employer located in a different state.
