OPT Approved - Card Not Recieved

Hi Dimitir,

I am currently a student who's OPT got approved from Feb 2011 to Feb 2012.

I have received an Approval Notice from USCIS which clearly specifies the dates I am allowed to work on OPT. I still have not received by EAD card in the mail and I have informed USCIS about it.

I know that an I-797 notice can't replace the purpose of an EAD card, but can I initially use the approval notice to verify employment eligibility until I don't receive my EAD card? In other words, can I work for my employer for the first 90 days with just the approval notice (with specified dates on it) while I wait for my card?
