Pending status of I-539
I applied for Change of Status from J-1 to F-1 on 09/02/2008. My case is still pending. However, I am willing to relocate and transfer schools. My current school denied me a transfer until the papers come. Can I abandon my case here and file in a new I-20 at the new school (original J-1 expired)? Or is the school right and my only option is to wait? What other options do I have if I want to move as soon as possible?
