I am currently a mech engineer on F-1 visa working for a mech research companyA on CPT and now I am switching job to a different companyB (same field of study). My employer is asking me to work part time for them (companyA) while I work fulltime for companyB. I already applied for OPT and will kick in 2 months(will be graduating). Can I work for two comapanies at the same time(1 part-time and 1 full-time)either on CPT or OPT? Both are same field of study and advanced research positions. Will it be a problem later for my H1B processing? My understanding is that OPT and CPT belong to school and not employers..so shouldn't be a problem, but I could be wrong. So if I am wrong, what are my alternatives? Thank you in advance.
