I am working in an E-verify company with OPT/F1 Status, and my current OPT expired in Jan 9th,2010. My major is qualified for 17-month OPT extension. But I totally missed the deadline for 17-month OPT extension application.
My company intends to do H1B sponsor for me which start to file on April 1st,2010. Right now,I am in the grace period which is 60 days afer OPT expired and I have no more than one month left.
I am thinking whether I can claim for 17-months OPT extension?(I prefer this)
My husband is on F1 status.If I have to change to F2, is the time left is long enough for me to change status?Can I change status from F2 to H1b then? Thanks.
