Q.

OPT extension status

I was hired by a start up company since July 2009.They registered for everify and I got my OPT extension till May 2011. However, this start up company doesn't pay me regularly. They paid me on a project basis according to hour rate. Right now, they decided not to give me any work, but they are willing to keep my status in their company for a while (means they are not going to report to INS). My question is:
1. Will my status be affected by not being paid regularly before?
2. Will I lost my status even this start up company not reporting to INS?
3.What can I do now to get a H1B visa? Is it the only way to find another everify company to sponsor my H1b?
4.I have one friend can hire me using his company but not doing the work related to my major. Is that possible I can get H1B?
